Dr Liadh Timmins is a Lecturer1 at Swansea University. They are a psychologist and epidemiologist whose research is broadly concerned with sexual orientation and gender identity. This includes the impacts of stigma and discrimination on sexual and gender minorities; the psychology of prejudice; and social and cognitive components of sexual orientation and gender identity. In terms of methods, they use large-scale surveys, experiments, novel measures, and rigorous statistics. Their work uses an intersectional and feminist lens.
Dr Timmins received their BA in Psychology from Maynooth University, their MSc in Applied Psychology from Trinity College Dublin, and their PhD in Psychology from King’s College London. They completed postdoctoral training in Epidemiology with a focus on Social Epidemiology at Columbia University.
Dr Timmins is available as a potential supervisor for postgraduate research, particularly through Swansea University's Psychology Research Degrees.
